The Commonwealth
The Commonwealth is the largest faction in Tauber, primarily because the powerful nobles own much of the land. Although the Commonwealth consists mainly of humans, gnomes and giants, any and all are technically allowed to join its ranks.
The Commonwealth was formed by gnome and human resistance fighters who had grown tired of the poor treatment at the hands of the Forgotten King. They founded the Commonwealth Capital of Sunrise City and attempted to rule the whole of Tauber fairly. However, their good intentions failed them and they found themselves at war with the Dominion. Eventually the warring factions found an uneasy truce and the new capital city, Machburg, was built as neutral ground for both Commonwealth and Dominion.
The Commonwealth Council governs the Commonwealth people from Sunrise City, its members from noble families (such as the Poppycocks), while the most powerful are granted a position on the Machburg Council to govern the whole country alongside Dominion colleagues. Through historic deals between the Council and Sons of the Sun, the church of the sun deity Gary is nominally the ‘official’ religion of the Commonwealth. The sun emblem flies from all Commonwealth state buildings and noble houses, reassuring its citizens that they will be provided with comfort and plenty whilst under its protection.
For New Players
The Commonwealth makes an ideal starting faction in Moonstone. Their approach to combat is to generally have higher base stats than their opponent and to brute force their way to victory. Whether this is having higher wounds and outlasting opposing troupes, or using a higher melee stat to outclass them in combat, the Commonwealth is happy to face an opponent head-on in a number of ways. As well as great stats, they often boast passive abilities to increase and decrease various damage.
On the side of aggression and melee prowess, the humans of Moonstone are unmatched in their abilities. Meanwhile, the gnomes can withstand all but the most brutal of attacks and still be able to fight back.
